The Australian government is driving growth in the IT market through its purchase programme and various initiatives, such as a Cyber Security Strategy.

This Atradius publication examines the forecast for growth in the Australian ICT industry as well as the key factors driving its expansion. It is forecasted to experience considerable growth in areas such as tablets & data centres. One of the major drivers of growth in the IT industry are the initiatives put in place by the Australian Government.

Furthermore, it discusses several topics including expected sales projections of IT services, computer hardware and software. All of these segments are set to increase with the largest increase by IT services sales from AUD 22.0 billion in 2016 to AUD 25.7 billion in 2019. 

Insolvency levels are reported to be low in this industry with financial performance expected to be stable however two major businesses have collapsed in the last year.
